Gunnar Mathiason received his PhD in Computer Science in 2010 from Linköping University (Sweden). He joined University of Skövde (Sweden) in 2010 and became Associate Professor (Docent) in 2022. His main focus is the analysis and modelling of complex industrial systems using applied AI; and AI algorithm development. Based on a strong industrial computer science and real-time systems background with 14 years in the SKF group, he has since 2017 been granted and lead several industrial research collaboration projects with academia and industry with the aim of using AI for revealing unknown interactions, finding complex correlations, and propose system refinements. He has served as journal reviewer and national funding application reviewer. Gunnar is a frequent invited speaker and he has served on multiple PhD Thesis committees. He served as Division Chair between 2022-2017 and as the Director of the Industrial Research School IPSI for two years.
